Literacy Mission

Having to leave their homes at a very young age, many kids that arrive to the center don’t have any basic skills in literacy or mathematics. Furthermore their capacity to learn and concentrate are negatively affected by the circumstances they are facing.

Thus there is a need for a comprehensive program that accompanies them in the restoration of their learning processes and concentration. To achieve this, we offer a very personalized service that gives attention to each child according to their experiences, skills and special needs.

To give them the best possible personal care, the children are divided into age groups. Within those age groups they are grouped according to their current skill level. Literacy is then taught through play and creative expression. For example: Letters are taught through songs or through 3D-modeling with Play Dough, giving them a more playful and sustainable approach to learning. For the more advanced children, reading and writing classes are promoted through poetry, storytelling, music and play.
